Our Virtual Terminal Server Standard plan includes a Virtual Dedicated Server with Microsoft Windows 2003 or 2008 pre-installed. We pre-configure each Virtual Terminal Server Standard package and give you access to it using free software called Remote Desktop Connection. Multiple users may access your server simultaneously and run any application from a PC, Mac, Linux computer or a web browser from anywhere, anytime!

Every server has between 1 and 8 2.53 Ghz virtual CPUs, shared on hosts operating, on average, below 30% CPU utilization. We ensure that every server is backed by 100% of the RAM included in their plan, up to 16 GB. Other features include: Virtual KVM, Virtual CD/DVD & Floppy, and Virtual Power Buttons. These features let you stay in control just like you were sitting in front of a physical server.

Basic Options

Remote Desktop Users: support up to 100 users for just $4.99/month per user.
Virtual Terminal Server is a multi-user plan that allows application and data sharing. Each plan is licensed for a specific number Microsoft Remote Desktop users. Licensing is not based on concurrent users - each user account requires a Microsoft Remote Desktop license.

RAM: provision up to 16 GB of RAM to any server in 128 MB increments for just $2.99/month.
Server plans each come standard with a specific amount of RAM dedicated to that server. In many cases RAM is the component that most affects performance. When servers have less memory than is required to execute operating system and application instructions, that information is instead stored in a pagefile or swap partition. This paging is what leads to poor performance. To avoid this, ensure you have enough RAM for your application. If you are not sure how much to get, don't worry. You can always add RAM to your server; upgrades require just a server reboot.

CPU Cores: provision up to 8x 2.53 Ghz cores to any server in 1 core increments for just $7.99/month.
Each Virtual Dedicated Server is provisioned with a specific number of 2.53 Ghz cpu cores. These are the servers' processors. Depending on the operating system, these cores may be configured as multiple single-core processors or single processors with multiple cores. CPUs, after RAM, are the next most important component to performance. You may add cores to your server at any time. Core upgrade require just a reboot.

Boot Disk: provision servers with up to a 500 GB boot disk in 1 GB increments for just $1.00/month.

A boot disk is the first virtual hard drive in a virtual server. It stores the operating system and all applications for the server. It is critical that the hard drive is large enough for all of your applications and data. If available disk space runs below 20%, it is likely that server performance will suffer. You may add disk space to a server's boot disk any time, in some cases without needing to even restart the server.

IP Addresses: provision servers with up to 5 IP addresses for just $1.00/month.
While one IP address is generally enough for most applications, there are times that you may need to have more. The most common reason for needing multiple IP addresses is SSL certificates for multiple domains. Larger allocations of IP addresses are available subject to approval.

Bandwidth: allocate up to 4 TB monthly data transfer in 500 GB increments for just $14.99/month.
Bandwidth or monthly data transfer is the amount of data transferred to or from the Internet in any calendar month. Each plan comes with a specific amount of bandwidth - some unlimited. In multiserver configurations, data transferred between servers are not considered part of this monthly data transfer.

Additional Disk Options

2nd, 3rd and 4th Disks: provision servers with up to 4x 500 GB disks in 1 GB increments for just $1.00/month.
Add up to 3 virtual hard drives to any plan. While this is not necessary for many configurations, specific applications benefit a great deal from having multiple disks. In most cases non-boot disks can be increased in size without any disruption in service.

The basic building block of every plan is our revolutionary VMware based Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) running on our exclusive Enterprise Virtualization Environment (E.V.E.)^TM. Our Virtual Dedicated Servers are unique in that they are both virtual, consuming shared resources across our massive E.V.E., and dedicated, giving customers complete control over the operating system. Our Windows VTS plans enable you to install any feature of Windows and install any supported application.

What is a Virtual Terminal Server?
Infinitely Virtual's VTS plan includes a Windows Virtual Dedicated Server, protected by our clustered enterprise Juniper firewalls, with Remote Desktop Session Host enabled. It includes all the Microsoft licensing necessary to host applications accessible to multiple simultaneous users. Every server has a virtual CPU, virtual RAM, virtual system board and bios, virtual network interface card, and virtual hard drives. We install Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 on this virtual hardware, and we give you access to the administrator account. With this, you can modify the installation of Windows in any way you require, install any software, and manage the server just like you purchased it directly from HP or Dell.

How Do I Access Applications on a Virtual Terminal Server?
By default our VTS plans are configured for you to access your applications using free software that is included in every Windows operating system since Windows 98 called Remote Desktop Connection. Simply open Remote Desktop Connection and provide the IP address of your server, and you will see the desktop of your VTS. From there you can run any application just like you were running it from your own PC. Remote Desktop Connection is available for both Macintosh and Linux computers. Optionally, you can access your applications through a web browser; just enable Remote Desktop Web Access. Support for thin clients is included.

Dedicated Server Performance
Infinitely Virtual VDS plans feature the industry's highest performance. Every server has between 1 and 8 2.53 Ghz virtual CPUs, shared on hosts operating, on average, below 30% CPU utilization.
